Workshop
With a full-sized garage door, the Workshop offers access for vehicles as well as large-size materiel. Double doors at the end open into the Storage room for caching of supplies of any sort. A man-door on the eastern wall connects directly to the garage.
Electrical service is provided from a separate subpanel within the Workshop. This feeds 6 sets of 120 volt and 240 volt outlets, each on its own discrete circuit. Outlets are positioned more than 48" off the floor to allow the placement of sheet materiel or work benches along the walls. There are 2 hoist attachments cast in the 14"-thick concrete the ceiling. These allow the use of a sliding hoist that can easily support a large engine.
Hydronic floor heating is supplied through the heating manifolds in the Mechanical Room and can be turned off when use is not anticipated. An outlet for the whole-house vacuum is placed high on the western wall.
