What's left to do?
Interior
With the shell constructed, insulated, waterproofed, and backfilled, the interior stands ready for completion.
Electrical
- All the conduits in the walls and ceilings are stubbed out and pass-throughs are placed under the footings. Additional conduit is onsite to connect the various outlets and home-run them to the Mechanical room. Wire still needs to be pulled, and lighting fixtures need to be placed.
Plumbing
- All the conduits for passing PEX through the walls are stubbed out and pass-throughs are placed under the footings. Additional conduit will be needed to connect the various locations and home-run them to the Mechanical room.
- All the sewage lines have been trenched in and connected to the septic system and stubbed up in the open spaces. Minimal additional sewage pipe will need to be added and connections made to the sinks, tub, showers, and commodes.
Central vac
- All the conduits for the central vac tubing in the concrete walls are stubbed out and pass-throughs are placed under the footings. Additional tubing will be needed to connect the various central vac outlets and home-run them to the Garage.
Floors
- Once the subfloor systems have been completed, fill already onsite needs to be added and compacted between the footings. A layer of insulation already onsite would then be laid and taped. On top of this, steel would be placed to secure the radiant heat tubing (already onsite) and reinforce the floors. Perimeter insulation is needed for a thermal break between floor zones and the walls to prevent leaching of heat. Concrete for the floors has to be poured and finished.
Walls
- The plan calls for staggered steel stud walls to be placed to divide rooms. Facing with cement backerboard will facilitate plastering to match the walls' finish.
Windows & doors
- Triple pane sliding glass doors and windows are recommended for energy efficiency.
Cabinetry
- Your choice of cabinetry will give you the storage space you need throughout the house.
Furniture & fixtures
- Furniture and fixtures of your choice will personalize the space for you.
